Prints on Copper
A collection of works from RE-TURN exhibition.
In this body of work Robins turns to photography and collage techniques as repositories of human memories as well memories encoded in our natural and built environments. Merging and collaging different elements from the human world and the natural world while using the natural ability of copper-based printing to introduce the sense of time into the visual representation, the artist invites us to reflect on the passage of time and the marks we leave behind as we move through our lives. At the same time we are forced to take a slower, more contemplative look at our world in order to register its complexity and its beauty often held within its most mundane and unassuming elements.
Where To was also recently exhibited in a group show titled Ninety One Collection in London. Please see the catalogue for that show here.
