These kiln and pit fired clay bowls combine the perfect lines of a partial sphere and the veil-like, melancholic marks of smoke they were enveloped into as they went through the firing process. The basic elements of water, earth, fire and air are brought into play in these human-made vessels. The natural and the human worlds are often at odds, but they can also work together directed by a gentle hand of the artist resulting in beautiful, although fragile creations.
